Neil Grey

Neil has been a practising Chartered Surveyor for the past 35 years and currently holds the position of Senior Director in his firm. During this career, he has developed skills in the area of business management and organisation, marketing and business development, handling legal and compliance matters, overall financial performance against targets and a range of personnel issues.

He has worked with very large global businesses as well as individuals, stakeholder groups and not for profit organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Theresa has spent all of her career in Human Resources within the private sector and her last position in the UK was as HR Director (UK, Ireland and South Africa) for a large international electronics company. She then transferred to Amsterdam for 4 years where she was the Global Head of Leadership Development with particular focus on emerging markets.

Her experience in volunteering was with UNICEF where she was the Treasurer and then Chair of the Cambridge branch. More recently, she was a proud volunteer for the Tall Ships Regatta in Greenwich.

Cheryl is a qualified accountant from the ACCA. She has been qualified for over thirteen years and has worked mainly in the media sector.
Cheryl has lived in Greenwich for the past six years and has two young children. She would like to provide something back to the community by volunteering for Volunteer Centre Greenwich.

Chris has worked in the Human Resources field for over 30 years as a senior manager, during which time his work has involved dealing with people from multi-cultural backgrounds relating to their employment. Being semi-retired he continues to work and interact with people from all over the world who visit London.

Kate Hursthouse

Kate is the CSR Manager for Slaughter and May and manages the firm’s community, pro bono and environment programme and advises the partners on grant giving through the Slaughter and may Charitable Trust.

In addition, Kate runs the CSR Legal Network, a network of CSR professionals working in the legal sector, which facilitates the sharing of best practice and supports member firms in the development of their CSR programmes.

Kate’s previous work experience includes nursing within the NHS and development work for pensioners’ organisation within the voluntary sector. Until recently she was employed for over 20 years in Adult and Community Learning within the Borough, with the duel roles of community development and teaching.

She has wide experience in the areas of Health and Safety and working with diverse community groups, and is now semi-retired.

I am just starting my career after completing a 2 year business course. I have recently secured employment as a Contact Centre Agent for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. In this role I am the first point of contact for many customers and residents of the borough.

In addition I am embarking upon my own venture looking at delivering an already existing service in a new and exciting way whilst ensuring that customer experience remains at the forefront.

Gulten has 33 years’ experience of working in local government, her most recent post was Third Sector Adviser for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in which she had strategic and operational responsibility for the Council’s Voluntary Sector Grants Budget.

She has extensive experience in voluntary sector development, including the commissioning and procurement of services, grants administration and strategic project management and partnership working with the Third Sector.

After graduating with a degree in International Marketing and German I worked a number of companies including Avon Cosmetics and Young & Rubicam Group, holding management, Director and CEO roles.

In 2000 Joined Haygarth Group, my primary role being Planning Director, managing a team of brand, data, communications and commercial planners across all the groups’ clients including charity sectors.

30+ years of experience working in banking, specifically as a Treasury dealer but now employed by a U.K. Challenger bank as a project manager on the installation of it’s new Treasury system.

Deborah has carried out other volunteering roles including treasurer of a local sports club and as a Team London ambassador at the 2012 London Olympics. A proud Greenwich resident who wants to contribute something to the community.
