Eye Heroes is the UK’s first child-led campaign to fight avoidable blindness. Children are trained through volunteer-led interactive workshops in schools and after school clubs to become eye health champions, and inform people in their communities about eye health and the benefits of regular eye test.

Administrative Volunteer

The Administrative Volunteer will help to develop systems that will enable the Eye Heroes programme to grow rapidly over the next few years. We need to improve data collection methods, move to using a database rather than MS Excel, write procedures for processes such as volunteer recruitment, and generally organize ourselves so that we are ready for the programme to scale.

We have a Facebook group and Twitter, but we want to start using social media options that appeal to a younger audience.

Workshop Volunteer

Volunteers will deliver workshops to children aged 8–12, either face-to-face or online, on eye health using the materials and guidance that have been developed by Eye Heroes. Volunteers do not need to be experts: no special skills or knowledge of science, eye health or eye care are required.
