The Role of a Volunteer at Volunteer Centre Greenwich

Each volunteering experience with us is different. There are roles for those who want to help in our office entering data and roles for those who want to help others find volunteer opportunities in the community. There are also roles for those who want to support young people or those with learning disabilities with skills and work experience, or those who would like to make an impact on the wellbeing and lives of those feeling vulnerable and isolated in Greenwich.

We are a friendly team who take the time to get to know you and what you'd like to get out of volunteering.

We aim to be as flexible as possible and welcome people from under-represented backgrounds.

In the past our volunteers have told us:

"If it wasn't for you and the support you provided, taking the time with me, I really don't think I would be doing so well" (volunteer on our Supported Volunteering Project).

"I saw an advert on social media. Training was very good; boundaries, paperwork/policies were very well presented and organised, I feel very supported by Abdi" (volunteer on our Emotional Wellbeing Project).

What we need from you
- positive, friendly attitude
- willingness to help others in need
- willingness to learn and be open to others' experiences
- an understanding of why safeguarding is important (we provide full training on this)

What you'll get from us
- regular support from the team
- positive, friendly team atmosphere
- desire to help you maximise your volunteer experience
- social activities through the year
- see the benefits of volunteering in the video below
