Re-engage Activity Group Volunteer roles

We are looking to set up a new group in Greenwich and need volunteers to help run it.

As an activity group co-ordinator, you’ll plan, organise and schedule monthly activity groups in your local area. This is an administrative role that requires communicating and socializing with older people and volunteers from all walks of life. Activity groups normally last around between 1-2 hours and will include an activity that gets people moving.

To become an activity group coordinator, you’ll need to:

• Have a 30-minute induction call with a member of the Re-engage team.
• Submit a DBS check.
• Provide a reference.
• Complete online volunteer training modules.

Become an Activity Group Driver

Our activity group drivers are a vital part of the Re-engage team.
Activity Groups provide a lifeline of friendship and movement for our older people. Drivers take older people to the activity groups and stay with them to enjoy the get-together.

As an activity group driver, you liaise with your group coordinator and take older guests to and from the activity group each month. Staying at the activity group is part of your role, so it’s much more than being a driver.

To become an activity group driver, you’ll need to:

• Attend a 30-minute online volunteer group induction.
• Submit a DBS check.
• Provide a reference.
• Complete online volunteer training modules.

You will need a UK Driving licence and own car.

Become an Activity Group Lead

As an activity group lead, you’ll take turns leading the monthly session and support the other activity group leads when it’s their turn to lead. You’ll also socialize with the older people at the activity group, ensuring that everyone feels supported and listened to. Activity groups normally last around two hours and will include an activity that gets people moving.

To become an activity group lead, you’ll need to:

• Attend a 30-minute online volunteer group induction.
• Submit a DBS check.
• Provide a reference.
• Complete online volunteer training modules.
